I’m Tracy Colin, a Black Registered Dietitian in New Jersey and the founder of My Food My Choice Nutrition.
We provide non-diet, weight-inclusive nutrition counseling for women who are tired of food feeling complicated, exhausting, or emotionally loaded.
For years, I’ve seen how diet culture, hormone imbalances, burnout, and food guilt quietly take over people’s lives.
My work is dedicated to helping clients restore balance and confidence with food. Instead of shame or restriction, I lead with science-backed care, cultural understanding, and compassion.
My path to becoming a dietitian wasn’t linear — and that’s intentional.
I began my career as an engineer, drawn to systems, problem-solving, and understanding the “why” beneath the surface.
But I quickly realized I wasn’t built for the corporate world. While I love collaboration, I thrive when I’m leading, creating, and building something aligned with my values.
Becoming a dietitian gave me the confidence to finally see my own business through.
After years of navigating anxiety and imposter syndrome, nutrition became the bridge between my analytical brain and my desire to make a real impact.
Today, I run a private nutrition practice in New Jersey, where I support clients navigating emotional eating, hormone imbalances, PCOS, and burnout.
I make up a small percentage of Black and Caribbean dietitians in the U.S., and this representation matters.
Many clients actively search for Black dietitians who see them—someone who understands cultural foods, family dynamics, and the real-world context of health. (I would like to something to be included as an advocate for health)
I intentionally blend cultural traditions into nutrition education so clients don’t feel like they have to choose between their health and their identity. As an advocate for health first, that value is woven through my entire approach.
Food is never just food. It’s culture, memory, emotion, and connection.
Supporting awareness and trust with food — without rules, guilt, or restriction.
Balanced nutrition that works in real life, including cultural foods and comfort foods.
Evidence-based guidance paired with empathy and emotional safety.
Nutrition education that respects identity, autonomy, and lived experience.
You don’t need more discipline.
You don’t need another meal plan.
You need support that sees the whole you.
